Midnight Madness 2010

February 6, 2010  |  Events, News, Video

The seasons’ snow is melting and leaves are beginning to bud, but with every droplet of water that thaws you can hear another Scottish Rollers faith in Winter skating die, and be washed away in the icy gutter of Scotlands’ streets.

On Friday the 29th January, The Rollers of Scotland Collect together to give Summer one more reason to come back.

The Scene was Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre, and if you don’t know already, The Transgression Skatepark on the Top Floor. There is no better setting for a winter skate than right in the middle of a centre complete with cinemas, restaurants and clothing outlets. Giving you no reason to leave the roof over your head and embrass the bitterness that is outside!

The time was 8 o’clock, and the park was already filled from ramp to ramp with Skaters. The atmosphere inside the park was intense, franticness pumped by the love rollerblading. Every man, woman and child wanting to lace they’re trick, waiting for they’re space. There was deliberatly no organisation or structure to the happenings of this Jam, I feel this was to get the most out of the night and the people at the night. Just trick after trick, by who ever and on what ever. This gave the night a great feel, all the little guys skating infront of the OG’s, the girls rippin’ it with the guys. Everyone was on the same level, and that can be said about the skating and the mentality of every individual of the first Scottish Rolling Collection.

Prizes were scooped up by 3 individuals

Cameron “cammy” Mitchell / Best Skater
Kier Lindsay / Best Trick
Graeme “Ginge” Anderson / Grommet of the Night.

SRC PROMO DVD

That’s not to say the rest of the boys sat at the sidelines and twidled thumbs. Goldies’ and Riddles’ release of the DVD was a success, with over 30 snapped up at the event. Around 80 to 100 rollerbladers rolled in from all corners of the Scottish Scene, and a handful of rollers from foreign lands where all there to witness The Midnight Mayhem at OTT.
